I truly hope Hardy plays the life of his contract.

But as with Wieters injury last season to a key position, sometimes, backup plans are needed.

Hardy makes a few plays every week that a lot of starting shortstops either bobble or make poor throws on. I'm glad JJ is our starting shortstop for the next few years.

He's also the best I remember at the relay throws to home.

Shortstop was Adam Jones natural position. As with most star young players.

Not to mention I can't ever recall a player of his caliber start his career at 3B and then slide over to SS. Does anyone have a single example of this?

True but he moved over right away. I mean someone who played his early years at 3B and moved over to SS as he entered his prime.
