The importance of a J.J. Hardy bounce-back

Props to JJ for basically reinventing himself at the plate because of his back injury. The guy doesn't even have both feet in the batters box. His stance is a mix of Harold baines and tony Batista. He's had some big hits over the last few weeks.

Coolbaugh has done a great job with Kim and JJ. Of course so have the players themselves.

He's swinging extremely well right now, and of course his defense is stellar. 1.3 rWAR in 63 games.

As I mentioned in another thread (and perhaps earlier in this one), it took Hardy about two weeks to find his stroke after he returned. He has hit .333/.371/.861 from July 3 to today, over 31 games.

Hardy is unprofessional and selfish.

It's all about him being concerned with his own personal statistics, with the notion/priority of the team winning games being a distant second.

A lot of posters wrote off Hardy after last year, but he's shown this year how valuable he is when he's healthy. Now he needs to stay healthy.
