Fair enough. I don't think the idea of a second team in Houston is that outrageous. It is a very large city that is still growing at a decent clip.

I would disagree because how many Astros fans are there already, and it wouldn't make sense unless they wanted a newer, Texas sized version of the MASN Dispute on their hands. Austin makes a lot of sense, as does San Antonio.

Works fine in the top 3 markets.

Because they started up before revenue sharing, TV deals that make or break teams and other things. The Mets have been there since 62, Angels since 60, and the White Sox have been there since 1900. People wouldn't do things like that now due to how badly contested the deals have gotten, case in point with MASN.

So, if it goes regional, and the NL goes away, what do you think the alignments would be?

Yeah but there is the team in Dallas, not so far away.

Dallas is 3 1/2 away, whereas Austin is almost 3 hours away from Houston. Putting a team in Texas could cause trouble, just like putting a team in Washington did 11 years ago. MLB should expand to markets that haven't been tapped like Vegas, Portland and Charlotte or go back to Montreal. The reason MLB won't go to places like Vancouver is because MASN is such a headache that it doesn't make sense to go there and do the whole MASN song and dance over again.

I like that a great deal but I don't think they are ready to go that large.

I think they would keep the current AL/NL alignment as closely as they could.
