I agree. He is fine over there but sometimes he makes some odd errors.

At times I wonder if it is a lack on concentration. Then again maybe he just made a mistake.

Davis was lack of concentration again. Mental not physical error. All the time in the world and fires the ball 100mph.

Bad error, but not the easiest play in the world. He fielded the grounder far in the hole and was trying to hit Brach in stride running pretty fast towards 1B. He had a step or two on Leon but was must have started to cover the bag a bit late.

He had all day. Set yourself and take your time and lob the throw. No need to rush. Have to know who is running.

Crazy defensive game.

- Great play by Manny on a slow roller with bases loaded in the 1st

- Wieters picks Bogaerts off first

- Wieters makes a bad throw to 2B and the runner gets to 3B

- Wieters has catchers' interference

- Ubaldo misses a foul pop near the 3B coaches' box

- Davis starts a tremendous 3-6-1 DP to get Ubaldo out of a jam

- Wieters and Brach miscommunicate and a sure out becomes an infield hit.

- Davis blows a relay throw to Brach and 2 runs score

- Manny makes a great catch over the railing of the Boston dugout

That's 9 notable plays in one game, and it's not over.

Those two plays were the difference. What a rotten way to cinch the division and quite possibly see the wild card slip away.

There was a play I forgot about that really annoyed me. First inning, Ortiz is up and Schoop is playing in short RF. Oritz hits a high bloop to RF, too far for Schoop to reach, and Trumbo freezes for a second, moves in tentatively and it falls in front of him. Granted he was playing Ortiz very deep, but that ball has to be caught. Two more runners get on base after that, and even though Ubaldo ultimately escapes on a very good defensive play by Manny, he ends the inning at 28 pitches when it could have been a 12-pitch inning.

o

(vs. BLUE JAYS, 9/28)

2 errors in the 1st inning led to an unearned run.

2 excellent plays by Nolan Reimold kept the Orioles in the game ........ the late rally by the Orioles' offense may not have been enough, otherwise.

Nolan was great tonight in the field.

While Reimold has generally been a whipping boy this season, you win and lose as a team.

Tonight was a good example ........ the entire lineup looked bad for 7 innings, but a couple of game-saving plays by Reimold on defense, a gutty performance by Tillman on a night when it seemed like he didn't have his best stuff/control, a timely solo home run by Mark Trumbo to give the Orioles life in the 8th inning, a 2-run blast by Hynu-Soo Kim an inning later, and 3.33 shutout innings by the bullpen all added up to an Orioles win.
