I find it hard to believe the Orioles are trying to get rid of Kim to put Avery on the team. If Kim went to another team I think they had someone from outside the organization they planned to acquire either via trade or someone cut from another team.

I'd platoon Kim and Rickard. Give them both 2-3 starts a week and see what happens.

I put 2-3 because Reimold will need a start or two every week.

That's not a platoon. In a platoon Rickard would only be playing one or two times a week.

I think its down to pay him 7 million to go away, or put him on the 25 man. I think its going to be paying him 7 million to go away, because if they put him on the roster Buck will be eating crow. And I doubt that DD will want to do that.

Unless there are off the field issues, I just don't get the big decision. If we cut Kim and keep Avery, we lose Kim for good and there is no hope of him giving us anything. If we OPTION Avery and keep Kim, we can cut Kim at ANY time and get Avery back.
