Perez and Reinheimer  showed why they are going to AAA.    Yac walked a couple but didn't pitch  as bad as the box score looks.  He had to 5 outs that inning.   Very little defensive help.

Sucre has the opt out today. I don’t think he’s some hot commodity in MLB, but DFAing Alberto seems too easy.

Talk about looking horrible... Arajuo. 89. No swings and misses. Hitters just attacking and barreling up everything in the zone. The thread is about about Yac and Means so I’ll tie it in,

Yac - If we keep Arajuo then that takes a spot in the pen

Means - name LH hitters in the AL East. Do we really need three LH relievers?  Means should go to AAA, get stretched out, earn a spot start up here vs a LH heavy team.

JOHN ALAN MEANS ))) (vs. YANKEES, 3/30)

All things considered, Means was pretty solid today.

He inherited the bases loaded with 2 outs from Bundy, and although the Yankees pushed across all 3 inherited runner with a walk and a single, I thought that he hung in there. His walk to Gardner was an 11-pitch plate appearance.

He then pitched 3 more innings, and only allowed a solo home run to Sanchez just prior to getting out of the 7th inning.

He would up getting almost as many outs as Bundy did. ) :S

Means hung in there very well. These are the types of bullpen appearances they need this season.

I think he was left in too long, as he was using a lot of pitches to get outs and ended up hanging a change up that had been spotted and super effective up to that point.

They both have a good chance in leading us in wins. I think the ST approach our pitching has is going to give some teams fits, at least early on. We could win some more games than we would if we had a traditional rotation. Means and Yac would be the biggest beneficiaries.
