I still don't see why they would sign Ondrusek to a major league contract. Why not just stash him in the minors? Is he some hot commodity with offers from multiple teams?

Kim is Korean and played in the KBO. Ondrusek played in the JPCL, in Japan.

The Tokyo Yakult Swallows parted ways with closer Logan Ondrusek on Thursday.

The Swallows terminated Ondrusek?s contract. He had been suspended by the team for abusive behavior after being pulled from a game on June 26.

Ondrusek, who asked Yakult to cut him loose, returned to the United States on Sunday. In his second year in Japan, he was 3-1 with 11 saves in 30 appearances.
