I got a phone call meant for Michael K Williams. A guy we both know had us both in his phone. I got the Omar call.

Funny when you mentioned Omar here. In my response above when I said "surrender" was gonna add "like a hopper dropping the stash from the third floor when he heard Omar whistling."

If Gausman gives up 3 runs over 6 or 7 innings but the Orioles lose, then it's because Gausman "Piitches just good enough to lose."

If the Orioles score a bunch of runs while Gausman is on the mound, and he and the team win the game comfortably, then his effort was only good enough because of the offense.

He gets criticized when the offense doesn't score, and he gets criticized if the offense DOES score, but he doesn't pitch a gem.

Those are pretty high standard to be judged by.

Kevin has pitched well at times, not very well at times. Tonight was not particularly good, imho. But good enough.

That's not what you said.

What you said was what I responded to.

This is what you said.

Only because we have 12. If we only had 3 runs, KG's performance would not feel fine probably.

You didn't say that it was good enough. You said that it probably would not have been good enough had the Orioles' offense not scored 12 runs.

And that is the kind of almost no-win standard/situation that some people hold Gausman to. He either doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to win low-scoring games in which the Orioles' offense does not score much, or he was only good enough because he was the beneficiary of the Orioles' offense scoring a lot of runs.
