I don't know enough about the Tiger pitching -- their hitting is much more interesting. What alternatives did Ausmus have?

It was a very close call. Too close to take with two strikes. It was a far cry from being "so far outside". The one Trumbo swung at in the pitch before that was way outside. The one he was called out on was very close.
