Let's say the are able to trade Ubaldo/Gallardo. 

They'll have Britton, Brach, O'Day.  If they add one of these two, then they'll have three spots that have options.  Though they would likely not option Givens.

That's much better than the beginning of last season.  I think we only had Givens with options.

If they are interested in both they could have a trade involving Brach and one of Miley, Gallardo, or Ubaldo. Maybe to the Mets? Worley fits the pen better than any of those guys and we could use another Lefty.

The Ten day Disabled List that was agreed to in the new CBA could make the optional assignment thing a bit more meaningful because of the better chance of the less injured player not being Day to Day but placed on a "Ten Day DL".

I would love to have Worley + Hernandez instead of Crap + Brach.  With all due respect to Brach.

Not only for possible trade returns -- I think that would definitely be a precursor to a free agent signing.
