1. I do like Alvarez as the lefty side of a DH.  I don't give him 2 years unless I have to.

2. This signing feels a bit Ubaldo-ish

3.  I also like it.  RH side of LF platoon, speed off the bench late in games, and he is a sufficient back up at all three OF positions.

I say 2 years for Alvarez because I'd like some stability for a couple years. I think he was good enough in 2016 to warrant a 2 year deal. If 1 gets it done, I'm fine with that too.

Since Roch is reporting Trumbo is still the O's priority, I think your right.

Unfortunately I think he may be too. It kind of seems like the same tunnel vision focus on Trumbo as Davis last year.

I'm just not feeling it. I think it would be a mistake to have both Alvarez and Mancini on the team because then you have two players who are virtually useless to you defensively. Pedro shouldn't even be allowed to touch a glove. And Mancini only has first base, where he's not likely to see much time unless Chris Davis get hurt.

Also, I just don't see the attraction of Saunders. Poor defender. Inconsistent hitter. Strikes out a lot.

Rajai I wouldn't mind as a platoon guy.
