I am not as down on Walker as some on here are. He had an incredible spring last year, I think given the opportunity he could be good, albeit at 1b.

I get the logjam at OF/1b but I would have cut Logan Ondrusek (or whatever his name is) before Walker.

You can't tell me they couldn't have traded Walker for something, anything earlier in the offseason rather than lose him for nothing.  It was obvious he had no future here, but they let things drag out and we see the result.

It takes two teams to agree on trades.  These teams saw the roster construction of the Oriole and knew if they waited that a worthwhile player w/options would be designated off the roster.  Why would they give up a player when the outcome is inevitable, players could be had for a waiver claim??

Yes you could have. About 50 K Before you put him through waivers though.

Maybe they could have gotten a 27-year-old AAA pitcher for him. Maybe. In Wildcard's situation above, yes, I would also have done that trade. The day Davis re-signed was the day everyone in the MLB knew Walker had no future with this team. (Unless he learned how to throw a knuckler)
