I realize Davies is listed as a "dark horse" for the cy young. But is he really that good?

Good lord.  Talk about premature coronation.  Obviously we'd be better off it that deal hadn't been made and we still had Davies, but let's not crown him as a #1, TOR, Cy Young contender yet.  His ERA was almost 4.00.  Wouldn't surprise me if he dropped it a half run or regressed and added a half run.

Zach Davies is a nice pitcher.  But, guys with less than 6 K's per 9 and who is a 3.90 ERA/FIPs don't usually win Cy Young awards.  He's the darkest of horses.

I really like Davies, but it would shock me if he was ever a top 5 Cy Young candidate.    It’s bad enough that we traded away a solid MOR starter who had six years of service time left.

Let's be honest guys...if Davies was still in the O's organization he probably wouldn't have had the success he's had. Whether it's bad coaching, tough division, the DH, who knows?

Buck's time to the plate obsession and/or whatever else we do that screws up starters, would've likely screwed up Davies.

You don’t have a basis to say that IMO.    He had success in our organization right to the moment we traded him.

Perhaps he traded a second Cy Young, but probably not Zach Davies

Better chance for it to be Josh Hader if Milwaukee would move him back to a starting pitcher

or probably the most likely will be Tobias Myers, great stuff and now in an organization that knows how to develop young pitching

If an "Ace" is a pitcher who allows two home runs every nine innings pitched and holds a 5.00 ERA, then everybody DD trades is an ace. We will be blaming him for letting Wade Miley get away soon if we overestimate the value of every single speculative article about who "could turn into an ace," whether they be 30 year olds with crappy stats or low-A ball prospects.

Oh? Hader is capable of starting? Wow! Brewers really have screwed up then!
