Two months of Machado isn't worth a top tier guy + the numbers needed to make Peter happy, not unless a team really does get desperate and overpays.

you’re right it’s not.  The top 5 prospects (70-75 FV guys) are worth closer to 80-100 million in surplus value.  The 6-30 guys are usually where you get prospects with surplus value in the 30-50 million range.  The guys who are probably MLB regulars but with some breakout potential.

I just hope it isn't one of those trades like my beloved Montreal Canadiens did when they had Patrick Roy.  They traded the best goalie in the game for 3 shlubs.
