Well lets get him to Camden Yards. I'd really like to see them go with the best defensive team possible to finish the season. Can we please stop playing Nunez at 3B, no amount of work with Dickerson is going to make him a passable defender, Pedro Alvarez was better.

Wouldnt be the first Latin to have documented age differences in what they said they was, and what they really was.

So we should never sign or trade for a Latin player because we are afraid the documentation might possibly be fraudulent?  I could see the concern if there was some good reason to believe the player had falsified his identity, but with no such strong suspicion, what are we talking about here?

I didnt mean that we shouldn't.

Not sure, how they can truly validate this, which isn't a big deal, until the player hit 30 sooner, or 32 sooner, and skillset heads south.

With the way the rest of the diamond positions are being filled, you want to complain about only 3B?

Give the man some time, not like this is a team in playoff contention.

Since 2001 - September 11, the validation of birth records for all foreign born visa applicants has been made very, very, very stringent.

How can it be stringent, when the original birth records are not always very stringent????

Check the unicef numbers, 40% of all births worldwide are still unregistered.

Without them, you have not been able to get here. And play baseball.

What I am saying is without birth records, you cannot register for MLB international signing.

    • I don't know that I would be good with the 18 - 22 HRs per Year Adley will provide a a first baseman.   We need more production out of that position.
    • Well, my point was that the season stats were skewed because of what we did in the earlier parts of the season. We led baseball in home runs by a large margin, and thus, we scored a lot of runs. We were up near 55% of our runs being scored by the homerun when things were rolling. I don’t know what that number was later but wouldn’t surprised me if it was even higher. The writing was on the wall that when our torrid homerun pace slowed, so would our run production. Much more so than a team who scored in a more Balanced fashion. so while the overall runs per game was high throughout the season, it was not a representation of what the offense was doing in August and September. We finished 4th in mlb I believe which looks great, but we were 1st for a large portion of the season.
    • I will say Rutschman is much closer to Weiters than he is to Posey.  I was hoping for the opposite.
    • I think if you limit to one.  TOR is a must. But while the Orioles are good they have more than one need. I think this year taught us one thing regarding pitching.  You can't plan on everyone staying healthy... Duh.  So whoever it is, given what we have returning and healthy.  I think the Orioles need 2 SP who can pitch in a short playoff series.  A #1 and a #2 or #3. I think assuming we have a healthy closer is a risk a WS contending team should not take.  Get a strong closer and another strong bull pen guy.  If you have too many at the deadline, trade some.  (see Phillies). At least one RH Bat.  Preferably this player should haver World Series success in their resume.   If we are I think the Orioles could make some additional trades that can strengthen the farm.   When you are on the bottom, improvement is not incredibly difficult.  When you are at the top, incremental change requires more.  That is where the Orioles are.  This can be done without spending a billion dollars, but obviously, if the owners wanted to spend lavishly, it would help. The question is can Elias make these moves.  I think he can, but since Adley arrived, we have traded away instead of going for a small chance at WC, been swept at home in the ALDS and swept at home in the WC.  This is a huge off season for Elias in my opinion.   I hope he can do it.  I think he can do it.  But he has to prove it.
    • Mullins was the only Oriole that actually showed up to hit in the WC games, and he still plays strong defense.  I don't see how they can let Mullins go unless they believe Cowser can play CF full time or they replace him with someone like Cody Bellinger.  I'd almost rather they trade Cowser since he'll have more trade value, and he's such a wildcard of a hitter.  And I don't see how they can assume Bradfield will be ready even to be a fourth outfielder next season.
    • Exactly. That’s a tough sell on a rh hitter.
    • Teoscar 31 year old in the bottom 7% in whif rate and can’t play defense - no thanks
