Chris Davis 2019 and beyond

Well, been out of town for several days, and come back and we are still beating up Chris Davis.

Going to be a very long season at this rate.

Re: analytics, my main fear there is that Davis will simply be resistant and/or unable to grasp/implement what it is they would like him to do better. 

I also wonder how, in a team of young positive dudes, they will keep him from dragging that vibe down. He can get pretty sullen at times.

Can CD have the worst ever ST performance to match his worst ever ML season?

Oh that is good news. I was about to ask is there any chance he would be cut before the start of the season...that may have answered that question. 0%

He could be a bounce back candidate, but the bar is so low it might not matter. Over/under on HRs is about 24.5. Considering the rest of his game, does that make anyone feel good?

I put the odds at very long he gets to anywhere near 100 BB. He’s trending down and never reached that mark. Counting stats aside, he isn’t very valuable. 

Of course, I’d love for him to OPS .750 and play above average defense again. I’m just not expecting it.

Thought this was pretty funny from FG....

The Quick Opinion: There are dead cats and then there cats so thoroughly corpsefied and gross that their very bones have been reduced to a fine powder. Davis may bounce in 2019. Or his bone dust might drift away in the first spring breeze.

There's still nothing more pleasing than a Davis home run. For one brief moment, all is right in the world.

I'm sure he will follow it up with basically nothing for the next 12 games.
