Go to the earlier event on Carroll Creek. A short walk down the creek takes you to Idiom (my favorite), Smoketown and Attaboy breweries, and McClintok distillery.

I know the co-founder of the McClintock Distillery.    He was a high school classmate of my daughter’s and also the son of one of my brother’s law school roommmates.     And by total coincidence my brother and I walked into that distillery the day it opened, not knowing that we knew the guy.

Yep.  I've been to all of them and Flying Dog more times than I can count.  There are breweries and distilleries all over Frederick.

My post from October 25th. They did not do exactly what i wanted but close. Still should do one at Camden Yards with the #1 pick.

I think a caravan across the state of Maryland  and parts of Central PA  would be a good idea. About six teams have one in January,at least as of last year. You get five or six different buses and the Orioles roam the state and near York ,PA. Each bus has two or so current Orioles, two former Orioles ,a TV and radio guy and two minor leaguers and Oriole bird and maybe a minor league mascot depending on what stadium they stop at. .  i know the other teams stop at businesses,schools,hospitals,nursing homes.etc. Kids clinics indoors also .

Stops could be started in Hagerstown and go to Fort Detrick and up to a mall in York,Pa and end up at the Keys Stadium for Oriole season ticket holders and Keys season ticket holders to get autographs.

Also off for the Eastern Shore and ending at the Shorebirds stadium for again season ticket holders of Shorebirds and Orioles.

One for Annapolis with stops at the USNA and go to Fort Meade and end up at the Baysox Stadium again for season ticket holders of both teams.

One for Aberdeen with stops at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and ending at the Ironbirds stadium for season ticket holders of both teams.

The big one would be the one for Baltimore which would have to include the # 1 draft pick with stops at SSA and throughout the county and city ending at Camden Yards for autographs for season ticket holders.

They would also be stopping at the other places I listed above.

The Reds are even doing a contest this year where the bus stops at your place of business or your house if you win.

Brews and O’s
Join the Baltimore Orioles staff and players John Means and Brendan Kline on January 23rd, 2020 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Raw Bar (2809 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21224) for a Q&A hosted by The Baltimore Sun sports reporters Jon Meoli and Nathan Ruiz. Enjoy beer, wine, passed appetizers and a special appearance by the Oriole Bird at this Birdland Members-only event.

Anybody else going to this event tonight? I will be there and will pass on my impressions.

I really enjoyed the event last year at Sagamore. Everyone in attendance got an autographed Jonathan Villar baseball.

I will be at the B & O tomorrow. I like that place . Always was into trains.

I would have chosen that one since I can walk there and it is a cooler spot, but my wife and I are having our baby shower tomorrow. A MurphPup is due in about a month.

Saw this on the Orioles twitter page. $45.00 for Hays? Seems very high. But kid has to eat.

Man I clearly have been out of the loop for a while that they turned Top  Hat into a "family friendly" establishment.  I haven't been there in over 15 years and never in my life would I have thought they'd try to make that place anything more than a pool hall.

Decent event tonight, Q&A with Branden Kline and John Means. Better questions than normal, both players avoided cliches and actually responded to the questions.

Passed food included sliders, crab balls and sweet potato soup. There was also crudite. Free flowing good liquor and cheap beer and wine.

    • I think we’ve talked about this, but I would love to replace James McCann with Jonah Heim. Jonah Hime is a gold glove winner and even though he’s having a really bad offensive year compared to last year, he’s worlds better than McCann and would make it much easier to rest Adley more often. He has already been mentioned as a non-tender candidate because he’s apparently expecting a significant raise despite his mediocre season. Lowe might be as well, but it’s probably doubtful that they would move him now. The Rangers, as current champs, are going to take a huge PR hit if they trade anybody but their departing free agents. Half of their top 20 prospects are pitchers, but most have only 40-45 future values. All of their outfielders are scuffling right now, but they are all really good so I doubt they would make any outfield trades, and just hope for some improvement from their guys. I would love to get Robertson and Yates, and I wouldn’t mind Scherzer either. But we don’t have anybody they really need.
    • I have a ton of faith in the FO, but the way the poll was worded, had to cast my vote a little lower.   We won't know for years - if ever - which offers were made but rejected. Grayson has given everything I was hoping for from Bradish.  Burnes has exceeded the hype.  So, we need to replace the #3/#4 pitcher we expected Grayson to be.  Suarez is still a great surprise.  Kremer, in my mind, is trending upward.  A solid #3 would be thrilling. On the reliever front, one solid (non-elite) leverage-type reliever can push Tate/Baker/Akin back to Tidewater and make the whole BP look better.  And Coloumbe returns for the push. I guess I'm saying we don't need an ace and a closer, but a #3 and a 7th inning specialist.  Should be doable.
    • Faith.  I hope he trades all of the prospects that are clearly blocked, and get some players we can use.
    • Hays has certainly hit a lot better lately but he is just feasting on LHP’s. His wRC+ against RHP’s is 73, so he should not be taking any AB’s away against RHP’s from Cowser (or Mullins/Kjerstad/Santander assuming they are all healthy).  So much has been made about Cowser’s offense (for good reason) that it seems like the fact that he’s been the best defensive player on the team on a per game basis gets lost. With his defense and base running value, he doesn’t even have to be a great hitter to be valuable, like Kjerstad. His floor is closer to Mullins, yet it seems like he’s judged very differently. Put another way, if Mullins had Cowser’s overall offensive line right now, with his exit velo’s and quality of contact, nobody would be calling for him to lose playing time. It just seems odd that a rookie that has been so good defensively and has so many good offensive qualities (average exit velocity, chase rate, barrel %) is getting so much heat right now. He definitely does need to be better with RISP and in high leverage situations, and shouldn’t get an unlimited leash, but he’s not going to get better unless he keeps getting chances to work things out. And if he does work things out (as we saw in April) or even can replicate his season line to date the rest of the way, he’s likely the most valuable OF’er on the team.
    • I was definitely joking around, but I bet the combined career WAR of several if not the majority of teams top ten will be less than the WAR the Orioles get out of Henderson.    ps. The entire top ten of a team, not the ten lists of multiple teams. Is that clear? My sleep gummy is kicking in, I’m in a legal state, and, well, grammar and writing clarity is getting challenging.
    • Coby is in Memphis tonight.Thats all I know.
    • It would take a Teams entire top 10.
