Bundy was nothing more than an innings eater.  There's value in that for contenders.

Who is going to war innings for the Orioles this year?  If you are a pitcher and you are waived you will see yourself in an Orioles uniform.

Do any of these guys make our top 30?

Bradish is the #21 guy on MLB ....I'm sure he slides over into our top 30. I would imagine Mattson also has a shot! Rule 5 available #17 Sedlock and #30 Fenter could also play a role if they are selected. I don't expect Fenter to get picked but I'm really worried about Sedlock!

On the other hand any players they select might move into the top 30.

I am pretty sure Sedlock will be selected. Really I have no idea why we aren’t protecting him.

take it easy man.  This team is going to suck this year.  Villar was the big selling point for you going to games?  Bundy?

I am still thoroughly entrenched into my Angelos boycott. So it doesnt effect me in the slightest. I usually start the season watching on TV .... and less as they get buried.

Villar was my favorite player and I hate the trade both in regards to the return and the downgrade in quality of the game. Bundy is a real starter and the Orioles only had 3 of them last year. I think they are set up to win about 40 games.

Bradish was their #21 prospect according to MLB. I would think he is the main part?

As I said, when I wrote it was before I had all the information, I would assume that Mattson would be the headliner, because he was the first one mentioned and usually the first one mentioned is the main guy in the trade.

I understand that Mike is wanting to cast a wide net regarding guys he brings back into the system, but I would hope that these guys have major-league floors at least.

Last years team was supposed to lose more than the 2018 team. I will make a gentleman's bet that the 2020 team win total is close, within 5 games either way of the 2019 team.  Also, you assume Villar will repeat his 2018 season and Bundy will stay healthy and not regress further.  The team will be bad but there will be some nice stories and surprises. Just like this year.

Your on! How about a steak dinner?

I'll let you reconsider if they deal Mancini and Givens if you want that Caveat?

No biggie...I was just pointing it out.

    • I like Mounty, and do think there’s a decent chance this will be his best season so far.  But I don’t take a lot of comfort from sewing together two partial seasons at points that began and ended with hot streaks, and ignoring his history of streakiness.  He will have to prove that he can minimize the length and severity of his cold streaks, and for me he can only prove it over the full 162 game season.  He’s already had a stretch of 29 games at .657 this year but has been hot enough before and after to make up for it.  Hopefully he’ll continue that trend, but we’ll see.
    • I love Burnes but wouldn't want to pay what it takes. We still have Ortiz/Hall level prospects we can trade for the next Burnes. Remember we get a comp pick when he walks.
    • He's not going to be realistically in range for us.  It's going to take an overpay to keep him here, and we should have other options heading into the off season.  Hard pass for me.
    • Roch just posted the starters for the Jays series: Rodriguez, Burnes, TBA, & TBA. 3rd game Wednesday would be normal rest for Povich, so I think there's a chance they'll be calling him up to start that game.
    • I think you are on to something here, over the last calendar year Mounty has put up a slash line of .302/.363/.485 in 438 PAs...that's a long of stretch of strong offensive performance.  I'm glad he's on our team and hope he can keep it going.
    • Looks like he’s getting ready to go on one of his insane heaters. Couldn’t come at a better time, but enjoy it while it lasts.
    • I’m open to the idea IF the Orioles & Jorge Lopez reached an agreement, then let him take Vieira’s spot  1) Lopez’s son hospitalization caused him lots of stress  2) change of scenery from Mets losing culture to Orioles winning one could help him  3) Lopez had two stints with Orioles in which he pitched well and had no issues with coaches, teammates & fans  what do you guys think ?
