Yeah but either way I don't think you can punish them if they weren't involved.  I don't know that there is whistle blower protection in MLB.

Baseball has, in the past, largely turned a blind eye to in-game cheating with respect to hall of fame admission.  I don't think this affects his HOF resume much, if at all.  Though it's possible that in the twitter, righteous-fury, cancel culture of the 2010s, he does see a negative effect. A bit of thread derailment, but I feel like this is inconsistent with baseball's view on PEDs.

Yeah didn't affect Gaylord Perry very  much and he is pretty much the poster chile for cheaters.

I am certain that more will come out soon.  With Astros' firing both Luhnow and Hinch, does this mean that suspension begin now or when and if they get hired by someone?

This to me is a much bigger stain on the game than the steroids era.  And the fact is that is probably going on in many more clubhouses than we know about.  I want to shy away from the "everyone is dirty" generalization, because I think it is used too often and gets us down some bad rabbit holes in a race to the bottom than a race to the top.

It is flabbergasting to me that players are not going be at fault in this whole situation.  I understand the men who got fired were the manager and executive, and should have been more accountable when they found out.  Still, baseball has got to create cultural change within the system or we are going to be talking about the next cheating scandal in 10-15 years.

Perry didn’t get in until his third try, despite winning 314 games and two Cy Young awards.    My guess is he would have gotten in on the first ballot except for his reputation.     So, delayed but not denied.    Beltran is more of a borderline HOF guy, so this might hurt him more.

I like how he's trying to get their WS money donated to charity, it makes it look like it's not just a cash grab on his part (which it is).
