What facility improvements would you like to see at Camden Yards?

I stopped going to Yankees/Red Sox games at OPACY after being at a game in 2001 where obnoxious Yankees fans shouted "let's go Yankees" for nine innings in my section.

Reading this thread shows just how much the game has changed.  I used to go to the games to see the "games inside the game" that went on sometimes pitch by pitch.  You can't see that on tv.  I was a season ticket holder (13 to 29 games) from 1989-2002 and attended an awful lot of games without paying for parking (used the light rail at OPACY), food (eat on the way to the park), or drink.  Yes, i have many books of scorecards kept during those years.  Pitch counts, balls, strikes, etc i have a system.  I do still do this at minor league games.  This is what i like to do at games, rather than walk the concourse, go shopping at crazy prices, or try to get drunk for close to a week's paycheck.  I'm really not a fan of watching on tv since Mel Proctor/John Lowenstein were canned.

Now i get my fix at minor league games, which i would rather see these guys trying like hell to get to the big leagues than seeing the showboating bat flipping bs so many stars do.  Manny lost a lot of my respect seeing him act so non-chalant in not running out grounders and not giving his all in the field before being traded.

MLB has basically priced out the fans of my ilk from going to many games a season anymore.  What working man can afford to go to 29 games now?  Certainly not me. 

I would rather go to see the game being played than play on my smart phone.  I can do that in the bathroom.

Per 2018 pricing, you were able to get a 12oz domestic draft for $4 at OPACY.  If you were to drink 20 of these 12oz drafts (impressive), you're talking $80.  This equates to $2/HR.  Federal minimum wage is $7.25 and Maryland $10.10.  Something doesn't add up.

If I recall correctly there was a year (or two) where the concession prices were lowered to "reasonable" levels. Then in 2019 the prices went back up again and discounts were only offered to season ticket holders.

Update the scoreboard  or better utilize the existing ones

Seating bowl on lower level seating is woefully non consistent. Some seats are comfortable some are like your hips are in a vice.

• Remove the entire left field upper deck beyond the fair pole and make that area above the club level seating a giant social/standing room zone with a brand new wide screen scoreboard as the backdrop, ie the Scoreboard Pavilion. Convert the remaining club level seats out there to a bistro table zone.
• Move the fences back, all of them
• Create a grassy berm (like many of the spring training parks) in left field beyond the fence and make that area alcohol free and for families and kids only 
• Open the Concourses in the remainder of the upper deck and lower deck seating bowls and create more standing room areas

Get the Korean taco stand back.  On serious note, my daughter got married there, and the bathrooms in the suites were pretty janky.  They could use an upgrade.

I'd like somebody to take a can of yellow paint and paint the bottoms of the foul poles yellow instead of black.

Every time I've passed by the right field foul pole at Camden Yards, I've been struck by the fact that the first foot or two of the pole that extends above the top of the wall is painted black.  I haven't inspected the foul poles at all other major league parks as closely, of course, but from what I can see on TV, the poles are yellow all the way from the top of the pole down to the top of the wall, so that the distinction between a fair and a foul ball is as clear as it can be.  To the best of my knowledge, Camden Yards is the only place where it is this difficult for the umps to see where the foul pole meets the top of the wall.

I can remember a play some years back where a visiting player hit one down the right field line.  The ball bounced back onto the playing field and the umps ruled that it had hit the wall and was in play.  The Oriole right fielder got the ball back to the infield and the batter pulled up at second for an apparent double.

Buck Showalter challenged the ruling.  He said it had been a foul ball.

Replay review showed that not only was it a fair ball, but it had actually hit the black portion of the foul pole above the top of the wall.  Buck had challenged his way out of a double into a home run.
