Not surprised about that.  Seems like he'd thrown a lot of innings, high leverage ones, too.

The up and down velocity this year was a big worry and is probably the #1 reason he dropped to 10.

Im sure he has some tools that scouts like because his numbers look pretty poor to me. But to haggle over 2m or 3m when you had a terrible season exactly negotiating from a position of strength.

Rocker and Fabian may be a little sweet, but probably not as sweet as 2023 with its "every 18 year old from 2020" who was only 80% as good as Coby Mayo and Carter Baumler.

If Lawler has another great year, Elias might rethink passing on him given his improved resume.  He could be our guy at 2 or 3.

Because he hit 20 HRs, slugged 560, and was considered one of the top defensive CFers in college baseball. 

I heard he had a big number so when the Sox picked him, I assumed the Sox knew and they were going to pay it. I'd still guess he takes the money, but there's a lot of chatter about him returning to school. As Faleris noted, Fabian does have a lot of leverage. Unnoted in this thread, Fabian's little brother will be coming to the University of Florida next season and the brothers would like to play together.

As an Orioles and Gators fan, I'd love to see him spurn the Sox.
