Thursday afternoon August 12: Orioles try to avoid sweep on the hottest day of the year

This is just so damn infuriating.

The sabermetric experts say there is no such thing as clutch hitting.  Guys hit the way they hit pretty much regardless of the situation.

But the Orioles have these stretches that lead you to conclude that is utter bullshit.

In this series the Orioles were 28/83 (.337) without runners in scoring position, and 0/18 with RISP.  And they had a nearly two week long similar stretch earlier this year.

If the SABR folks aren't completely full of shit, then someone needs to show me where the corresponding games are where the Orioles hit a couple hundred points higher with RISP than without?  WHERE ARE THEY???

This is so damn frustrating.
