Well I’m not able to follow along because I’m working, but it seems that Ellis has that Tampa Bay magic. Four innings, 60 total pitches, one run, on one hit with one walk.

Maybe it’ll take a little bit longer for the Tampa Bay magic pitching dust to rub off.

I tend to chalk this up to unfamiliarity, or the Spenser Watkins syndrome. Hitters unfamiliar with a pitcher will make said pitcher look better than he is.

Just got home and walked in the door.  The Hays and Mountcastle hits happened after I had parked my car and before I got in the house and turned on the TV.  I find game days description of Hays hit interesting.  A line drive to the LF.  Would not expect Gutierrez to go 1st to 3rd on a hit described that way.
