Coming into today's game, Gutierrez was hitting .260 / .316 / .370 / .686 in September, which is a lot better than his season stats. But even if he were to hit that across an entire season it wouldn't be enough for a third baseman. Andino had similar stats in 2011 (.263 / .327 / .344 .670) and I remember it not feeling it was close to being enough, even for a decent defensive second baseman who made cool videos with Adam Jones. Glad we eventually found Schoop, glad that Buck kept his faith in him.

Assuming Sulser in the 9th, try to get through 6-7-8 with some combination of Greene, Tate, with Abad strategically placed to face a couple lefties?  Maybe go a bit longer with Diplan?

We have as good a defensive outfield on the field right now as any team in baseball.

When I lived in Miami, I used to go to Duffy's Tavern on Red Road and they would gladly switch one of the TVs to MASN so I cd watch the Orioles. If it was for dinner, they'd set me up at the table that was right in front of the TV tuned to MASN. Miss those days. Haven't found any place that would do that in New York or PA, unless, of course, the local team is playing against the Os.

Give Krehbiel a second inning? Only thrown 8 pitches. In his previous five major league appearances with the Dbacks, Rays, and O's, he's gone 1.67 innings twice.
