Grayson has been ready all year.  But the service time rules are part of the game players and owners agreed to.  Neither side was on the side of more competition.

I’ll disagree with this. In the little we saw in spring training he struggled, and he struggled in a few of his triple-a starts as well. He’s been in a better groove lately

By the way, if I had to guess, I’d say Grayson probably will have missed the Super 2 cutoff by the time his next start rolls around.   We won’t know until after the end of the 2024 season, but if I had to bet, that’s how I’d bet.

Pretty much every pitcher in pretty much every year has patches when they struggle.  That doesn't mean they aren't ready.

Didn't he pitch all of two innings in spring training?  Are we really judging him based off of two spring training innings?

If I missed an appearance or two I apologize.

Whether you want to term it a bad patch or not ready, generally speaking that seems like a bad time to promote someone...and an especially bad time to promote someone to the major leagues

I don't think hot or cold streaks mean much unless there is an underlying reason for the behavior.

I certainly don't think Grayson giving up runs in one of the two innings he pitched in ML ST mean anything, anymore then if he had thrown two scoreless.

I am of the belief that there is almost always an underlying reason for hot or cold streaks. With the one exception of literally everything you hit is smoked but right at somebody.

Grayson is listed as Norfolks starter tonight.  Looks like at least another week unless there is some Tom foolery going on.

Definitely bummed he’s not getting promoted. Seems like a waste of innings/his arm.
