Game Notes

• Believe it or not, this is only the Orioles' 2nd trip to St Louis ever, since the franchise moved to Baltimore from St Louis in 1954.   The only other trip, according to Roch on his blog this morning, was in 2003.   That was still "Old Busch Stadium", since "New Busch Stadium" opened in 2006.   So this will be the first time the Orioles have ever played in New Busch.  Albert Pujols was in the lineup back in 2003 when we last played there, and although not in tonight's lineup, we will likely see him during this series 19 years later.   Pujols was playing regularly for a while but last week the Cardinals brought up 24 year old Juan Yepez and he has taken over as the regular DH.  
• With Adam Wainwright on the Covid List, Virginia Tech alum Packy Naughton is starting tonight.   The lefthander was taken in the 9th round of the 2017 draft by the Reds.   Frankly, he was never very successful at VT and I was quite surprised he was drafted.   But now he is in the majors, so what do I know.
• The forecast for today, tomorrow, and Thursday in St Louis has a high in the 90s each day, although by gametime tonight and tomorrow night it will likely be below 90.   Thursday's day game could be a real hot one.
• The Orioles are 3-10 on the road, the second worst road record in the majors, better than only the Reds.
