Anyone that was going to be alienated by a move like this has already moved on.

One of the worst things a GM can do is make moves to please the fanbase.

How often does that work out?

At the end of the day the fans want the team to win.

Do they still get the comp pick if they tender him in the offseason? If so I think you simply weigh the trade offers against that.

No fan is going to be alienated by trading Trey.  
 

This whole idea that it’s not nice to deal him, not good for him, etc..is bs.

If he’s your hero, you should want him to succeed and win.

I believe (not 100%) that they did away with the comp picks in the last bargaining agreement. Can anyone confirm that?

How did the Roberts deal work, the second Hardy deal, the second O'Day deal, the Trumbo deal?

How did the Miguel Cabrera deal work out for the Tigers?  Strasburg for the Nationals?

The Orioles aren't going to make a qualifying offer to Mancini because if he accepted it the Orioles would have to pay him $18M+ for 2023 which is not going to happen.

Whether there will be comp picks this offseason is still unknown, it is dependent on whether MLBPA and MLB can agree on terms for an International Draft.

I LOVE the idea that a stupid move isn't a stupid move unless it's a super duper stupid move.

Was the O'Day contract, which led to the O's trading Gausman for salary relief not actually a stupid move?

 

 

 

Also, I would think that someone who is so delicate that they have to ask other posters to not bully them wouldn't be so hateful as to laugh at others.

It's very mean and I now feel threatened.

I'm still amazed that:

1. The O's tended Trumbo a QO
2. He didn't take it.
3. They brought him back anyway

Lol ok Corn. Frobby was butting into a conversation with someone else and saying he’s tired of hearing it. Then don’t read it or ignore it and move on….I see things I don’t like and try my best to ignore them. No reason he can’t do the same.
