My issue with Crochet is the uncertainty of how much he will be able to pitch with his innings issues this year. How many innings can he pitch in 2025 as well? -
Akin’s overall metrics continue to be excellent this year (SIERA, xERA, K%, BB%, whiff rate, hard hit rate, Stuff+, botERA) but his Clutch index on Fangraphs is 6th worst out of 132 relievers with at least 30 IP. He has come up short in big spots. The hope is that this is just random and not indicative of how he’ll perform in the clutch going forward. -

What they do with Hays is going to be interesting. The reports may not be true but if they are and the Os want a RH OFer capable of playing CF, where does that leave Hays? He should be a guy that would be very easy to trade and while I know he’s hot right now, if ends the year as he normally does, do you really tender him a contract for 6.5-7.5M? It’s possible you do because you want a RHer in the OF but if you want a RH bat for the OF, I feel like that player should be a CFer. I know next year is next year but the composition of the OF for the rest of this year and really 2025 and beyond is a big question mark imo. I just wonder if the Os are going to use this deadline to offload some of this depth to make a run or if they will feel that depth is a key their run, as they have felt for a while now and stick with the vet guys? -
I would not say the bar is set at elite. He has to be major league average, or close. It’s not clear that he is. -

For the people voting yes, don’t let the idea that Crochet is a monster risk and has no history of doing anything that he’s doing stop you from trading a lot of talent for a hope And a prayer.
