“There were some things that I was doing that were a little obvious to the other teams,” Rodriguez said. “Without getting in-depth into too many things, just a minor mechanical adjustment, just to help me conceal the baseball more, keep a consistent delivery. Just keep guys on edge.”

When the 23-year-old came set in his old stance, he had his glove near his head, holding it atop the ball in his right hand. In limiting the Toronto Blue Jays to two runs and five base runners in five innings Saturday, Rodriguez lowered his glove to his chest, holding it such that it was between the batter and his right hand. After previously having a significant bend in his right knee and placing his left foot farther toward the first base side, he straightened up slightly and brought his feet closer together.

When Rodriguez opens his left shoulder he pulls the pitch every time.  When he come straight through he throes strikes that are hard to hit.

Thought this might be the case. Some teams have hit him very hard almost as if they know what's coming. Would be great if he can string together a few good starts.

Ok, I’ll buy that to some degree.  Tipping your pitches has got nothing to do with throwing strikes with and executing your secondary pitches though.

He needs to be able to repeat his delivery. So far, he hasn’t been.

His problems were more command related to me, but maybe there was slight tipping that did not help him.

Seems like every time an Orioles pitcher gets hit a round a little bit we hear about tipping.

Yup. It’s a very convenient article. I support Grayson, but it’s 2023. These kids are handled differently nowadays.

I think it's wishful thinking that that's all it is. I think all of us on here agree he needs to get his control working.

On a random aside, I was listening to Rick Monday the other day relate how we could tell exactly what a teammate was going to throw even from the outfield. The pitcher was incredulous until Rick—as he claims—“wrote down” all his guesses and gave him the list.

Tipping doesn’t always kill a pitcher but it does matter some. Eduardo Perez hit better of Randy Johnson because he knew what was coming. He apparently wasn’t the only one and Randy still was pretty good.

They might have to send him down and try to figure out what is going on, or dl him.  You can’t keep hamstringing the pen by giving the team a short start every other time.
