At this rate, we're going to need 20 runs to win 20-19. Bats are going, so if we lose, this is on our very ... uh, eccentric, pitcher management, and on the failure to cut Perez after he's demonstrated that he's basically a position player in terms of pitching effectiveness.

I do not understand todays bullpen usage. You have two long guys, so you purposefully have one of them throw only one inning? Then you pull the second in the 4th? Now you have no long relievers left, and 5 innings to cover.

They clearly didn’t think Akin had lot of innings available today.  I am sure they had this planned out for how many pitches each guy could give you.  Akin and Voth used a lot of pitches even though they couldn’t even give you 4 innings.  They probably had Akin at about 30 pitches and Voth 60 pitches give or take a few.  We have thrown 105 pitches in 4 innings.

I mean, they're 3-3 since then while playing the hottest team (Texas), and a Cleveland team that regardless of the record always plays tough. And while demoting Rodriguez and losing Mullins.

I mean it’s a fair point, but from a subjective standpoint I think they’ve looked terrible, and the run differential has been even worse.  I think they’ve been fairly fortunate this year in general to be honest.  I think they are a decent team, just wary of a collapse after too many years rooting for the black and orange.

Good point. Not a lot of balls missing bats. They just keep fouling them off. Annoying, but if you make competitive pitches, you don't need 105 to get through 4.
