What made Gunnar the #1 prospect in baseball and where is that guy?

Much like Majors in the Army Reserves, not everyone should be in uniform.

Who was the comedian that joked about baseball coaches wearing the uniforms?  Might’ve been Carlin.  Imagine NFL coaches in shoulder pads and helmets.

At some point you have to wonder if our prospects maybe have been a bit overrated as a whole.  Henderson, Grayson, Adley(to a point as his catching and throwing have been average).

For every Corbin Carroll there is a few Jarred Kelenic, Jo Addel, and Bobby Witt Jr guys.

And none are the rare true superstar..

And Gunnar is still the youngest player in MLB.

Not quite the youngest, but in the top 5 so far as I can tell.

Eury Perez (P, MIA) was called up in May just after turning 20.

Jordan Walker (OF, STL) is a full year younger than Gunnar, and he struggled badly enough that he was sent down to AAA for a month and only recently called back up.

Elly De La Cruzv (IF, CIN) is six months younger, and he just got the call to great acclaim.

Ezequial Tovar (SS, COL) is about the same age as Gunnar, also got a cup of coffee last year, and has right around the same OPS this year.

Agreed in principle though that he's absurdly young and that has to be considered in any discussion.

Good catch looks like Gunnar is youngest player in the AL still pretty impressive.

Spin zone: if the Yankees can throw a parade for Aaron Judge's single-season AL HR record even though it's not even top-5 all time, then we can call Gunnar the youngest player 😁

Too small a sample size, but he's raking as a DH.

He just needs more experience.  Those Top 100 lists should never be taken too literally; some players on the lists are very advanced already while others are ranked highly more on future potential.

3 hits and 2 steals tonight.

Here is an absurd stat from Roch:

Gunnar is the first Oriole rookie to have 2 steals in a game since... [make your guess before scrolling down]

Matt Angle in 2011.

Anyone guess that right?   I won't believe you if you say you did.
