A tad higher.  Not enough to worry about it in his first rehab game.

Means strength is spinning his breaking stuff.  I never saw him as a power pitcher.

91-93 in his first REAL competitive game after TJ is encouraging. Think first spring training start. Imagine they’ll let him cut it loose after a handful of these starts. I’d expect his velo to gradually increase with each outing.

You think Hyde would do that, I don't? Irvin pitched a 1-2-3 inning in 12 pitches, perfect spot for him to go 2. Nope, Fugi and Cano. Then they weren't available when Bautista imploded.

The main thing I want to hear tomorrow is that Means has zero arm discomfort.

Excellent first start.   Having been a college and pro tennis player and a PBA pro bowler who averages 230 a game and who has overcome an elbow and a shoulder injury.....it takes a good 2 weeks of tennis practice and at least that bowling to start to feel normal.

 

 

The fact that he was this good in his first action back is solid news.

 

BTW I pitched all through HS and my dad pitched in the Tigers farm system.
