Your Favorite O's Podcast and Why

The only ones I really knew about were the MASN Orioles podcast on Wednesdays which I liked, but they're usually out of date by the time they do them. Baseball is an every day affair. Which is one of the appeals of Locked On Orioles. But even he's a little behind events on some days when games are played.

My favorite is Ryan Ripken's podcast. It's not strictly Orioles, but it features high profile guests and gives insight you won't get anywhere else. Except maybe Adam Jones.

A little off-topic as not strictly O's related, but I enjoy Baseball Bar-B-Cast, which is hosted by two guys that grew up in MD, one of whom is an O's fan.  They cover MLB generally.

And I also occasionally listen to certain baseball related podcasts put out by The Athletic, in particular ones involving Derek Van Riper and Eno Sarris, as I find their insights into analytics informative. Although I am definitely sympathetic to those who find Eno a bit grating at times.

#1 - On the Verge.  Great in-depth coverage of our farm system, plus good mailbag episodes covering the major league team.  Only complaint is their production quality (audio) isn't good...but the content is top notch.

#2 - Adam Jones - no explanation needed.

#3 - Section 336 - it's fine.

#4 - Locked on Orioles - I usually listen while driving to work when I couldn't watch the game the night before.  Good recaps of games.  Great for the casual fan, but not for the fan that is seeking in-depth nerdy stuff.  Connor does his best, but he is clearly limited by the format expectations Locked On sets.  The pre-season crossover episodes with the Locked On hosts of other AL East teams are always awesome.

I have no idea how anyone can listed to Locked on Orioles. Not that I have actually listened to him but I see his takes on Twitter and he is just awful 90% of the time.

I know he has a good following and he deserves credit for that but god he’s terrible.

thats the first podcast I've found and, as a new fan, it's quite informative BUT it's a bit dry listening to him

I discovered Locked on Orioles today and found it both informative and helpful to understand the greater context of the each game.

BUT ... what are your favs and why?

No, that guy is quite annoying to me especially on twitter. Horrible takes after horrible takes. He started the season calling out Elias...he's just a bad Oriole fan sadly.

He’s 23-24 years old. Has some knowledge, but has had way too many terrible takes. I think he has had the Orioles DFA about 1/3 of the current roster. Has no understanding of how the ebb and flow a season can take. Called out Elias as though he was some kind of authority. Makes a fool of himself regularly. And he injects his personal political views into things way too often. I listen on occasion, but only in the background in the morning.

I enjoy On The Verge, but it has its limitations as well. They are what they are.

I listen to the MLB Pipeline pod, and some of the BA pods.

Yea I see him trying to push his political views too. He always likes to take a shot at someone like Santander for no vax and stupid stuff like that..as if he needs another reason to be unlikeable.  Lol

I tried listening to this when I asked about podcasts a while ago and once he started getting into his politics I was like yeah, no shot.
