Update Again Again: OPACY lease officially official, done and approved, for real this time

I have never doubted for a minute that a lease agreement would get signed.  But these negotiations took longer than the Paris Peace Talks, as Angelos looked for ways to leverage this into other unwarranted business advantages for him beyond the walls of the stadium.  I look forward to learning whether the six months of stalling led to the State making any concessions that will give the MSA or the legislature any concerns.

Wow, I am so surprised. All of the experts on here with zero commercial real estate lease negotiation or ownership all told me I was wrong that these negotiations aren’t straight forward and take a long time. They also said being on a month to month meant doom and gloom when I said it didn’t matter it is just part of the process of the negotiations. With all of the people with zero experience telling me I was wrong, I was almost certain that I was.
Just kidding, told you so. Stay in your lane.

Usually "I Told You So" posts are annoying, but this made me laugh very hard. A+ message board dry sarcasm. Thank you, sevastras.

John was just legitimately concerned that when all the other mega-casino/sportsbook owners had their own baseball stadium as part of their 500-acre gambling complex he'd be left out.

The terms of the new lease include two five-year extension options, according to a source with direct knowledge of the agreement.

Ravens lease is 15 years with two lease options.

Don't expect much stadium improvements over the.  winter. .Ravens signed lease in January and took about four months to get the financing in place. Probably will have to get a bank loan besides the bonds being sold. Ravens was for $450mm and $200 mm is a bank loan from JP Morgan Chase.

So now what do they do with the money?

New sound system and scoreboards would be nice.

I second that.

I was in the Eutaw Street bleachers Wednesday.  The speakers were not working at all.  We couldn't hear a thing that Adrienne was saying.  Two weeks ago, the speakers were working.

Yes … billionaires and Governors hugging each other and partying about some “accomplishment” always makes me nervous.
