Another one from the rumor mill - Stephenson

It’s not really the rumor mill.  It’s the total conjecture mill.

Whether GM Mike Elias is actually looking at Stephenson and considering signing him has not been reported, but Schoenfield thinks this would be a great fit and is predicting it happens.”

I wouldn't be opposed to this.

Thanks for sharing this.  FWIW this seems more like a prediction than a rumor.  Appreciated nonetheless.

This article is just is under the ESPN paywall.

Even though the Orioles signed Kimbrel to replace the injured Felix Bautista, Stephenson fits their price point and he went to the next level after he introduced a cutter with the Tampa Bay Rays. I'd rather have Stephenson on a three-year, $30 million contract than Hader on something close to nine figures.

I think we need to invest in a starter rather than drop $10 million per. Elias has never given a free agent a multi year deal buyt is going to hand out 3/30?

With some of the money we’ve seen thrown around for mediocre starters I think this could be a very prudent move if they decide to allocate their resources this way.

Yep.  Kind to hard to believe the O's would do that contract.

I think this is too big a gamble for a below average reliever the last few years in the majors.  I get he had a great year with the Rays and stuff can be great but I would rather they spend money on someone with a better track record especially for a team with budget constraints.

He wouldn't be wrong. SI has been straight garbage....as has most offseason reporting. I know it's the day and age that we're in (clicks and likes) but it's gotten absolutely ridiculous.

SI is garbage but this is essentially an MLbTR article..it’s just citing someone else’s work..which isn’t anything more than a prediction.
