Honestly I could see most that happening. And why can't Kimbrel be great and Kremer over/under should be 4.00 or lower.

Kremer already had an ERA below 4 in a season. It was 2022. No reason he can't do it again. People forget he also shutout the Astros in a complete game late that season the next game right after Kyle Bradish came within 1 out from doing it, IIRC.

That said, with everything going on in Israel it's fair to assume that Kremer might have his heart and mind distracted outside of baseball so it might be safe to assume the bottom end of any production he might provide the team. We saw how bad that affected his performance in October during the playoff start.

This one, .290 is too modest for a best case dream.

The MLB Network guys just compared Holliday to A-Rod for zipping through 4 levels in Year 1.    We 100% know based on physical tools Holliday won't have A-Rod power ever, but like Ted Williams said the most important skill in the game is the bat to ball.

Homers might be very few, but the very best cases for '24 Holliday I think push towards that Boggs-Jeter hitting .325 kind of achievement.

The Jackson Holliday dream career races toward Jeter's 3465 career hits.    1996 Jeter took 300 PA batting last, 200 PA batting first, hit .314 and collected 22* postseason hits.

*21, if you xwOBA adjust for the flyout to Tony Tarasco Statcast today would tell us is a HR in 0/30 parks, not that that affected much.

Best case scenario:

We trade for Cease but all the prospects we trade bomb.  Cease goes on to win the Cy Young and leads us to a WS win.  The White Sox Board has a meltdown not seen since the 2011 Red Sox.  The result: Endless hours of schadenfreude.

Sorry, why would anyone wish for prospects to "bomb" if the trade worked out for the O's? If anything, IMO, if the "prospects" were successful it would make teams more likely to deals with the O's in the future. A "good" trade works well for both teams, no one needs to be fleeced (Glenn Davis).

What difference does it make? From what I hear from people on here, if Elias doesn’t do a trade now, he is incapable of ever making any meaningful trades.

Gunnar hitting .300 is probably the most unrealistic thing (other than the GRod ROY 😄).

I love how “best case dream scenario” involves a Mateo DFA.

IMO the best development for the future of this franchise is hitting some top percentile outcomes for pitching prospects. We did that with Grayson and especially Bradish already and that’s the only thing that really has us in this great position right now. We’re clearly never getting the necessary pitching any other way.

It would be simply a massive boost if any of McDermott or Povich (or even Hall) looked like playoff caliber SP by midseason this year.  Certainly not likely, but could happen and pairing them over the next ~5 years with Grayson and Bradish would be enormous.
