That chart on the right is confusing AF. I see -14 swing runs in the shadow and -13 runs on take but the chart on the left says -16 runs total in the shadow. I dunno. I do know it backs up what we show with our eyes and that he missed or took way too many hittable pitches this year. -

I'd like to add another question. A serious one. How do we improve our first inning performance. We had a lot of 1-2-3 starts to games, unless Gunnar was hitting a home run. Who is the answer to a high OBP guy (or two) at the top of the lineup? All we have are guys we "hope" can do it, but hope is not a strategy. I'd prefer someone that has maybe proven it at the MLB level. -

These are all valid questions, but before we answer them, I think we need to ask whether Elias is willing to trade, silent J, Jackson, and Coby or keep them and suffer through their defense. I don’t think they should be off-limits. -

Yeah, I think Tyler O’Neil would be ideal. Maybe Randall Grichuk or Mark Canha. However, I think Walltimore is a really tough sell unless we pay a large premium. I think we go the trade route and target Taylor Ward or Lane Thomas, both of whom have better career numbers vs LHP than Mountcastle especially for OBP. I don’t necessarily think we need a higher caliber lefty-masher than Mounty (who is pretty good in that regard), though maybe someone more OBP oriented. More important is that I think the lefty mashing skill is more critical for the outfield than first base (where we have Mayo) given how the roster is constructed. -
I think we need to add 2 SP. One TOR SP and one mid/back end guy. I’d prefer to have Povich, Suarez, Rogers, McDermott competing as depth. It’s not like they won’t all get opportunities.
