Gunnar 0-6 with 5 strike outs vs Heaney.

I’m think winning the first 2 makes it a littler easier to sit him. Gunnar also had a busy ASB albeit in Texas.

This is probably the worst lineup we can put together given the roster construction, except having Mullins in for Cowser. Seems like Mayo would certainly help this lineup.

    • Someone on the O's staff thinks they can make Rogers into an asset.  They would not have traded for him otherwise. Agree with this. Let the trade play out. Has to be some other plan than 4 Sh*t starts and a demotion. Sans injuries he probably no more fit into this Post Season than Norby or Stowers. Maybe he can be a future piece.
    • You know what drives me crazy? Mosquitos. Also people who put their brakes on for no reason when you're behind them.
    • Calling Moises Chace and Seth Johnson "potential ML Starters" means that you can pretty much call any minor league prospect the same. Nothing against them at all, they are both very talented, but They both have equally as much chance (and probably more) of NOT being long term ML starters. Neither was top 100, neither was one of our top 10, and neither is in the Phillies top 10 now. Does it suck to lose guys? Sure. But come on man, we have to trade people to get people. Elias gets called a "hoarder" for not trading guys, then gets lambasted for trading guys that are not any of our top guys. Nobody expects Gregory Soto to be prime Aroldis Chatman, but if he can be a reliable arm in the pen down the stretch and in the playoffs and in 2025 then how is that not a good trade? You dont need to "win" every trade for it to be a good trade. If Soto is good for us but Seth Johnson is good for philly, its a bad trade? Lets not forget we acquired Seth Johnson for far less.
    • I’m sure the timeouts were called for good reasons. The problem is why did that reason happen to begin with.
    • I look at Rogers as pitching depth.    The O's have used 32 pitchers so far this season.   I am sure Rogers will figure into next years team somewhere.    If Povich, McDermott or Young are better than him next spring so be it.   Rogers has options. As far as trading Norby and Stowers for him, I am sure they were both offered to Tampa and Philly as well as all the 29 teams as Elias looked for pitching.   A back end starter in Rogers is the best that was offered. Elias' mission at the deadline was to improve the O's pitching without trading Holliday, Basallo, Mayo or Kjerstad.   He did that.   I am sure he didn't want to trade prospects for veterans but that was the situation he and the team were in. Someone on the O's staff thinks they can make Rogers into an asset.  They would not have traded for him otherwise.
