I may be grasping at straws here, but the fact that they haven’t ILed him might mean he’s okay. Seems stupid to waste a roster spot on a guy with a torn UCL.

They might still do that tomorrow for Cade.

Bad news’s is I don’t see the front office doing both, they will hoard more

Then the WS is no longer a goal or a super long shot at best.

This is out only guaranteed season with Burnes and only 3 more years of Adley and 4 of Gunnar after this. There comes a point where you cannot afford to punt present opportunities for future possibilities as time keeps passing and the clock keeps ticking. There are no guarantees about regarding the future and there is nothing to say that this might be our best chance or one of our best chances. If we continue to wait for the stars to align perfectly that day may never come. Toronto, San Diego, the White Sox can all recently testify to this.

Yeah but if it was a torn UCL wouldn't they have just ILed him immediately to free up a roster spot for a fresh arm? Seems like poor roster management otherwise and that doesn't sound like Elias.

I don't think the roster spot was that important until they get forced to make a move. They really don't have any RP in the MiL's beating down the door, and I don't think they want to mess up the couple of starters they have converting them to relief just yet. Putting Bradish on the IL for Povich makes sense...id that's what they end up doing.

It’s going to be interesting in future with so many starters going down in MLB.  The Astros lost two the last few days.  Last year this happened to the Rays with starter after starter going down and was ultimately part of their demise.   You would think with all these key starters going down that there would be more offense this year but it has been the exact opposite.

Below are players with non-surgical rehab of UCL that subsequently needed Tommy John with the length of their pre-surgery return.

Ruby De La Rosa

7.2 IP, 5 wks

Garrett Richards

104 IP, 15 mos

JC Ramirez

6.2 IP, 1 wk

Chris Paddack

22.1 IP, 1 mo

That's a fairly short list, but I guess it depends on how many pitchers have had non-surgical rehab. Do we know that number?

If Bradish was going to fall apart anyway, I wish they had let him try to finish his no-hitter.

It was a wonderful performance but with the benefit of hindsight with Tampa and now if he's compromised, it might have been as much the White Sox as him.

Hyde is still relatively new to the tones a manager may need to use with the gaggle if a top performer is just being load managed.    It might still be that.

Grayson's load management was after an acute NYY effort.    If today's move is Bradish to IL retro to 6/2, the 15 days would be up around the off day 6/17, the eve of the Yankee Stadium series..

It'd even necessitate Cade Povich taking a couple weeks of MLB turns before July!

That darned Kyle Boddy disruption has asymmetrically affected the supply of Arms relative to Bats that can be arbitraged.

Orioles bats are doing fantastic relative to the league keeping their noses out in front.

Does that include rehab inning in the minors?
