Erceg went for the Royals #11 prospect and two other pieces. Not sure what the O’s see in Rogers, but they must have valued him higher than 5 years of a hard throwing back inning reliever.

Controllable SP is much more valuable than RP. Erceg was Brett Phillips, a failed hitting prospect and he's not without warts, he's not been very valuable this season among RP fWAR.

It's amazing how many buyers there are at the trade deadline this year.

I haven't quite followed as closely recently but this seems like the most I can ever remember.

Thank Manfred for making it like the NHL, where almost every team is within reach of a playoff spot. Stupid rule.

Mike Rizzo still holding Kyle Finnegan at the 1-hour mark.    Finnegan had a West Coast blowup to take his ERA from 2.50 to 3.50 last night because that is how 1-inning ERA reliever rolls even 100 games into the season.

Detente in the MASN cold war could be a mid kind of final hour act from Elias.

Chad Green is in town.     Fairbanks similar to Jason Adam.     Mason Miller for the mic drop.

We’ll be fighting for one of those last playoff spots this year.

It was the Royals #4 and #18 prospects. And Klein as the 2nd best prospect in that package has a ++ grade 70 100MPH FB and a grade 60 slider and could straight up replace Erceg if he gets his command sorted.

The Royals clearly valued pitching in the trade and its unclear they wanted Norby for Erceg and the O's certainly don't have the pitching prospects to make a similar quality trade.

I'd be happy if we got Green or Fairbanks. I'm a little concerned about Miller's durability.
