No. At least not right this minute. Unknown how Scherzer will last. I like him, but would like to see if he continues to pitch well. Maybe reevaluate in a few weeks. -
I hate to say it but I think that’s a big risk but also a no-brainer. Odds are high that McDermott is a reliever. Elite reliever might be his ceiling but even that’s a stretch. Scherzer is old (39) and a bit of a health risk but he can help in the regular season and he gives you a chance in the playoffs. McDermott, apparently, has had some back issues of his own. Reliever for veteran rental starter who still has it? Yes. -

Yes, though they MIGHT consider Kjerstad IF they think Miller can transition to starting next year without excessive injury risk. However, it seems like a very high chance of TJ in the next few years.

I’m not saying they’ll make a deal right now, but maybe they’re just as aggressive in trading early as they were last year. I doubt they let Scherzer go more than 5-6 IP in his 2-3 starts before the ASB. He has no value to them. Every inning he throws for them is unnecessarily risky and expensive. I don’t know too much about his injuries this year, but I’d imagine he’d be highly motivated to win a ring and get another huge contract. -

That’s why I suggested Robert but you have to add BP help. Im more concerned about the pen than the rotation.
