Orioles acquiring Zach Eflin

Another move for a playoff starter putting Eflin at #4 and Kremer back to #5 (and Cade or Chayce likely part of the trade package for the tbd pitcher) and then Elias has done his work.

Last 2 seasons, he’s 18th among qualified SP’s in ERA, 7th in FIP, 4th in xFIP, and 8th in WAR. He’s a good number 3 right now and likely better than any SP mentioned behind Skubal, Crochet, and Flaherty. And obviously he’s under control next season which is ideal.

They also still have a lot of ammo to get at least 1 more reliever and possibly another starter depending on how Elias feels about Suarez in the rotation.

Since it is all minor leagues there will need to be some roster moves. Option Baker, DFA Avila/Krook, Suarez to the pen?

They DFA'd Nittoli and Stoudt, but if I'm calculating it correctly, they will still need to option Baker or DFA Burch Smith.

In this scenario, Rodríguez would become the “Ace” and Eflin number 2. If by some miracle they were to get Skubal, everyone moves down. I would love to see a Burnes, Skubal, Rodríguez, Eflin, Kremer rotation to finish the year.

Rodriquez isn’t an ace
