I think 1 and 3 are the most likely. 

 

3,1,2 is the likelihood if we base it off how Elias has operated this year with Mayo.

Mayo's fractured rib changed the timeline. Now the team might as well wait to preserve his service time and make a run at the draft pick for AL ROY 2025.

Gut punch but hopefully he is back for the playoffs. At least this isn't quite as late as the Markakis injury was.

The baseball gods....Connor Norby and Jordan Westburg are teammates 3 solid years and both have generally spotless health track records.

The Rays told me a bunch who they thought Yandy Diaz was in 2019 when he missed 7/22 to 9/29 but went right back to a big role in the playoffs.    I think Jordan Westburg might be Yandy Diaz good.

I do think his defense has cost him coming up so far, but I'm pretty sure the Orioles know his offense will outweigh his defense, even if he has some errors. He's not brutal over there anyways. Now with Gunnar making errors like it's his job of late at SS, maybe they will be even more unlikely to bring him up, but we'll soon find out. If it was about his rookie status, he'll get promoted on 31 August.

Fractures can heal quick, so I will remain optimistic about the "end of the regular season" timeframe.

Even if he is “healthy” he will have basically no time to get ready for playoffs. 
 

That said it would be huge morale boost and potential glove boost as well to come back.
