its not 1995. You cant afford to waste a roster spot on a guy this unathletic. Unless hes prime Jim Thome with the bat. Just DFA him. Reminds me so much of the time and at bats wasted with Jesus Aguilar (and Brett Phillips) in 2022. Call up Mayo, let him struggle as DH.

Prime Thome was sick

And done... a quality start against the Mighty Rockies.

he could start the next inning, but he’s only good for ~15 more pitches. Given the altitude, I’d call it a day for him and bring in our bullpen ground ball specialist….except that we don’t have one.

Gunnar: 2 for last 26

Adley: 7 for last 42

Santander: 7 for last 36

O’Hearn: 3 for last 28

That’s a collective .144 average.

Yet they keep getting put at the top part of the lineup.

A thought that came to me. Was Westburg (at least on the offensive side) the glue that kept it together?

Well, Ramon probably has taken most of the ABs, but yeah Westburg is a huge loss.  He plays decent defense at two positions, can run, can hit.  Brings some intensity.  I think a bigger part is Adley’s collapse and Gunnar’s drop in production (especially power).
