The thing to do is to reward the best of the bad teams. The worst record in each of the six divisions competes in the draft contest and the best of those 6 worst teams gets the first pick.

It incentivizes winning, keeps fans interested, makes it more likely worn out FAs will get a last hurrah, and is a genuine source of pride for the best of those bad teams.

They are 6-4 vs the Yankees this year.   No team in the majors has beaten the Yankees more times than the Orioles.

People go on and on about how we do poorly vs bad pitchers.

Today we didn't.   So the people who exist just to have something to bitch and whine about have to move the goalposts and say it's no big deal, they should do this.
