Brandon Hyde quote after loss to White Sox

Isn’t Brandon Hyde more or less indicting himself with this observation after tonight’s game?

"We didn't play good baseball tonight. Offensively, we didn't put the ball in play enough. We just got beat. They played better than we did. They played with more energy, intensity."

 Leadership and good leaders privately hold people accountable and publicly accept responsibility.    Part of Hyde’s role is getting the Os mentally ready to play every night.   Need to win games and yes sweep series against bad teams.

I sure more energy an intensity would have scored 7 more runs.  Why don't the O's do that every game.  They would have scored like 1500 runs this season.

There is so much mental to this physical game. They really should of swept them on paper but who knows what happened tonight in their heads. Some times I Eagle a hole and sometimes I three put for a double bogey. If I knew why, maybe I would be a professional golfer. However, professional golfers do the same, just a lot less frequently than myself.

Games like this happen, Suarez just had a bad day that’s all, it happens. Remember, the White Sox blasted the Yankees just last week, I think, 10-1 or something like that.

And the Yankees are getting blasted by the Rangers right now. And Pinstripe Alley is afire.

There is an art to managing a baseball team, and it is full of intangibles that no one can evaluate, not even the players themselves.

However, I don’t think Hyde is good at those intangibles, whatever they are.

But, as Adam Jones said, “sometimes you suck.”

Pretty much every coach says that after a loss.  I know Saban made statements about that many many times after Alabama had a loss and he is considered the best coach in college football.  Belichek has said it, Steve Kerr has said it.  There literally is nothing in that statement that any other coach has not said.

IMO Suarez last pitched in Colorado and didn’t particularly care for readjustment to a park far more closer to sea level. The bats didn’t respond to the ChiSox SP, and POOF you have a loss.

Let's be honest. The Orioles are a pretty good team, pretty good, but not even good, and certainly not great . But if we are that, the Yankees are too. They don't look like a quality team either. This is not a good year for great baseball .Too many injuries...too much uninspired play.

The O’s need Gunnar to enter beast mode to match Judge. Adley’s a wounded bird so it’d be up to Santander to go nuclear as well (to match Soto). Otherwise it’s apathy. Neither of these teams are poised to win it all the way they’ve played since the first day of summer.

So by not publicly accepting responsibility he is indicting himself. So he should have indicted himself by publicly accepting responsibility. Got it.

This team is a lessor team without Grayson Rodriquez, Jordan Westburg, Columbe, and when Eflin was hurt.  If all these guys come back they can be much better.

Buck up Roy…and most everyone else for that matter.  The regular season doesn’t matter at all anymore.  The Rangers weren’t the best team in their division last year, much less the AL, and certainly not in baseball yet they were the champs.  They got hot in the playoffs and won it all despite their crappy pen.  No reason this team can’t do that.  Get GRod back, Columbe, Westburg…Gunnar or Santander goes on an Adonis Garcia run.  Just get in the playoffs and roll the dice.  Marginal teams can win it all, the Rangers showed the world how it’s done.  Stop living and dying with every game. Those days died with playoff over-expansion.
