You've gotta make routine plays. Zero runs would have scored last inning had the defense done its job. Would've been outta this inning probably, as well.

TWO of the nine runs charged to Hendrickson were earned. You're blaming the wrong person.

They didn't help, but Hendrickson didn't do his job either. He could have pitched out of situations.

You've got to make your pitches. Hendrickson should have never walked the leadoff hitter to start that rally. And he just couldn't execute after that.

That's true but cut the guy a break. When the defense isn't giving you any support after those 2 plays by Wiggington- not much he can do. He probably felt like he had to start making perfect pitches, and he was already struggling with his control. Easy to pile on a guy when EVERYTHING is going wrong.

Tonight is just one of those nights it seems.

Are you joking??? What game are you watching? That play to Izturis was pretty routine. The one to Roberts wasn't a gimme- but it would have been FAR from a webgem.

You make a pitcher get 5 outs against this line-up in an inning, you're going to give up damage. It's not "they didn't help." More like, "they're mostly to blame."

But he has thrown nearly 1000 innings in the majors with an ERA over 5. Can you really expect anything better? Its just sad that we have to run that kind of pitcher out every 5th day.

Well, yeah. My argument is that, up until the errors started piling up and Hendrickson was forced to pitch out of situations that he should have been out of, he did a good job of bending and not breaking.

Sadly right now, Hendrickson's the third best starter on our ML roster.

The Izzy play was a slow GB against afast runner he has to charge it hard and and make a perfect throw, the ball the got past BRob was hard hit and just beyond his glove and scored a hit. The DP ball needed a oerfect feed to have a chance to be made. it would have been sensational if they had turned it. They were far from routine.

The ball that got past BRob to his right wasn't charged as an error. He had a throwing error.

The Izzy play was a routine play. He had to charge it, sure, but it's not a play that most ML shortstops have trouble with. Hence, the error.
