That's absurd. Say a pitcher comes in with the bases loaded and no outs. He gives up only 1 run. Should he get .25 ER?

If one P gets a runner around to 3B, and the next P gets him from 3B to score, then I think the 1st P should get .75 of an ER and the 2nd P should get .25 of it. I don't think either P deserves all of it. It's the all or nothing part that I think is unfair. We can come up with scenarios in which it's more unfair than others.

I like this idea. Now, you end up with relievers with a 2.00 ERA who lets inherited runners score left and right.
