How about Soto, Pie, Marshall and Cedeno for Miggy and Hernandez?

Soto at full time catcher next year and most time first baseman the following year------great power potential and great roster flexibility.

I think Bedard is necessary to get a roster changing haul from the Dodgers.

We dont need Soto, we already have a catcher for the future

I'm not sure why Nomar is entering these talks, nor do I really care. LaRoche is nice, but I want at least two ML ready prospects back. Hu, as pointed out before has made some strides, but I'd like to see what we could get from the Dodgers aside from him.

So it'd be LaRoche, Nomar and another prospect. And if I'm the O's I'm pointing out to them that Nomar has played in 122, 121 and 86 games in each of the past three seasons. Simply put, he's an injury waiting to happen and that's just not good enough.

Including Nomar isn't adding value to LA's side of the deal, he's adding value to ours.

I would love for Miggy and Ramon to be traded

A Dodgers trade makes the most for us and LA. LaRoche is the guy I go after here. Also try to get Furcal back.

From the earlier post in the thread, you guys didnt like the Cubs and Angels. I agree, they arent the best trade partners, but if we needed to fall back on them you have to do it. Santana still has potential along with Aybar. We might as well expirament with them since we are going nowhere next year anyway. Same with Pie, we might as well take a chance.

Tejada's value is obviously falling, so a trade is now or never. I am willing to take the risk on high potential guys to get rid of Miggy.

You could very well be correct. If we could get Pie in one of the deals, I'd be quite pleased.

Hmmm? You mean the O's picking him up as a favor for taking him off the hands of the Dodgers?

I guess we can live for a season or two with a fartknocker stopgap...been doing it for a decade now, whats another season or two...

Just LaRoche alone (not really looking at Nomar as anything of positve value) doesn't seem like enough for Tejada to me. LaRoche and Hu could be too much, so maybe LaRoche and a slightly lesser regarded guy would do the trick.

LaRoche isn't close to enough, especially when you consider he doesn't seem to be in the long term plans of the Dodgers.

People are way undervaluing Tejada's worth.

Not sure why anyone is including Marshall as a big piece in a Miggy deal...He isn't all that good and would probably not be all that in the AL.
Marshall is a pretty safe bet to be a back of the rotation starter. Definitely some value there.

What about Houston as a destination for Tejada/Hernandez? I don't think they're ready to give Towles the C job, so it might make sense for them. I'm not sure it makes sense for us though. I doubt we could get Pence away from them.

Is he?

In his 2 seasons combined(essentially one season's worth of innings), his K rate is about 5.6.

His HR rate is about 1.3..His BB rate is 3.7 and his command rate is 1.5.

Not like he is 22 or something either...He is 25....His MiL stats were ok but he didn't show improvement as he moved up the ladder.

Not sure how you can say he is a safe bet to be a back of the rotation starter in the AL.

Well, bb did not say the Dodgers, but people are focusing there. I think Tejada for Furcal and LaRoche makes this more palatable for the Dodgers from a salary POV. LA might even through in a Meloan or a lower level prospect.

I think the Cubs offer an interesting choice from among Cedeno, Murton, Pie, Colvin and Ceda for Tejada. I would lean toward Cedeno and Pie.

Anaheim only gets interesting if we get Adenhart or Wood, but I'm sure we would have taken either of them in the past in a Miggy deal. So if they weren't offered before, it's doubtful we'll get them now.

I do think this will be a seller's market and we should be able to take advantage of that to get a better second prospect than many think for Miggy.
