Should I be interested in Jacob Petit or Tyler Wilson?

Wilson just keeps pitching successfully. I was glad to see his well deserved promotion to Bowie and so far he's proving he was ready for it. He's never been greatly heralded, but I sure like him and I suspect he is gradually moving up in the ranking on many people's prospect lists.

Same here. I think he has a good shot to be a back end SP, or at worst a solid MR.

I wonder what's the cause of him starting not very well at Frederick this year and then doing so well in Bowie. Maybe he was depressed to start the season at Frederick after doing very well there last year - considering he was 23 and needed to be higher than A ball to be taken seriously as a prospect. And perhaps being at Bowie energized him - he saw the opportunity and took it. Interesting that his ground ball rate has gone way down at Bowie. Has he been throwing more up in the zone at Bowie - maybe using a rising fastball?

He had the same weird promotion splits last year between Delmarva and Frederick, check it out, its kind of odd.

Obviously sample size and all that, but it is kind of interesting

Tyler Wilson pitched a very nice game last night in Richmond. His fastball sat at 90-91 and occasionally he touched 93. He lost some velocity in the 7th when he could only hit 89. His fastball had a nice sinking action to it which caused a lot of swings and misses. 84 MPH curveball that has a very nice break to it. He was striking out right handed hitters with it. it started on the inside half of the plate and broke down and away. Good kid to keep an eye on.

Wilson gave up a 2-run home run in the 1st inning, and then threw goose-eggs the rest of the way.

Wilson continues to hold his own at AA. If he can develop a more effective changeup, I could see him becoming a very similar starting pitcher to Miguel Gonzalez in the majors. He gets it. As Tucker Blair from Baltimore Sports and Life described him, he's a cerebral pitcher.

The 23 year-old Wilson improved to 7-1 on the season for the AA-Baysox.

He gave up 1 run through the first 5 innings.

In the 6th, he gave up a 2-out, 2-run single.

In the 7th, he gave up a solo home run.

After Wilson departed, Oliver Drake threw 2 shutout innings to complete the win for Bowie.
